Ngon Villa - The world of vietnamese local food

Vietnam is an agricultural country with tropical weather. To really understand the flavors of Vietnam, it's helpful to look at a map first; Vietnam is divided into three regions: North, Central and South. The main characteristics of geography, culture, ethnic or climate have defined specific characteristics of each regional cuisine with its unique tastes, contributing to the richness and diversity of Vietnamese cuisine. The northern food is notably influenced by China with stir-fries and noodle-based soups. In central and southern areas, there are more flavor-mixing with Thailand and Cambodia. Southern dishes are often more sugary; for example Pho’s broth are sweeter and more palm sugar is used in desserts.

“You have to taste a culture to understand it” – said Deborah Cater.

Ngon Villa gathers all the diversity of Vietnamese cuisine, from Hanoi’s “Pho Cuon” to central specialties, passing by the BBQ station with deliciously fresh skewers and the extensive drink list. Each province will be different in terms of the specialties, ingredients and recipes.. That’s why, it is difficult to find a great Hanoian pho in central Vietnam or an original Hue bun bo in the northern part of the country. Ngon Villa is taking up to this challenge. The restaurant focuses on traditional and authentic flavors; therefore, not only foreign visitors but also local residents can savor the tastes of Vietnamese culture.

“Hoping that guests can enjoy the finest features of Vietnamese local food, we want to create a real new and exquisite culinary experience at NGON VILLA.", shares Mr. Nguyen Huu Luc - Restaurant Manager at Ngon Villa. Moreover, guests will be able to experience the perfectly combination between great wines and the excellent cuisine we serve. Located at 10 Tong Duy Tan, Hoan Kiem, at the heart of the city’s famed Food Street; Ngon Villa is an extension of Vietnamese gastronomic culture, offering local favorite dishes in warm and elegant surroundings. Specially, the restaurant is housed in an old villa, built in 1889 for a French army captain and remains magnificent today, reflecting the fascinating heritage of Vietnam’s history. Open daily until late, with 400m2 along with lively terrace, open spaces and private rooms, Ngon Villa is an ideal restaurant for family or friends gatherings with a capacity up to 170 people.
